Race

Another win for Walker but as Mike Hogg reports it was a full scale war for the lower places behind him.

The first race of the day saw the same field as in Brazil with Walker and Wilcox on the front row. At the start Radzikowski made the best start to take second behind Walker but a poor second lap dropped him to last. For the next 6 laps Walker pulled away while the other three competitiors fought fiercely for 2nd. On lap 8 Wilcox and Radzikowski banged wheels and went off on either side of the track as Millican took advantage and blasted through the middle of both of them, setting fastest race lap in the process.

On lap 10 Radzikowski passed a stricken Wilcox who just managed to get his car out of the gravel while on the next lap Millican made the only pit stop of the race and was furious to discover his team had put A compound tyres on his car, losing him valuable race time as he struggled to get the hard-wearing tyres up to temperature. Wilcox passed the struggling Millican for 2nd on lap 14 and Walker went on to win by a minute and a half from Wilcox who in turn was 9 seconds ahead of Millican.
