Race

Mike Hogg watched the race which was pretty much governed by events at the first corner.

Cloudy skies and a stiff breeze met the first competitiors of the IAF1GPC on Sunday as the 4 competitors took to the grid. At the off Kevin Walker made the most of his pole position to lead into the first corner while trouble broke out behind him. Not expecting a move from behind, Wilcox turned in at the entry to Senna to find Millican trying to barge through. Both cars banged wheels and slid sideways across the path of returnee Radzikowski who had to take avoiding action into the gravel, only to spin. Despite this setback that put him 38 seconds down after one lap he was happy to be back.

By lap 4 Wilcox was back ahead of Millican and soon found himself in the lead as Walker misjudged his braking into the final corner and went off track for a moment. On lap 7, however he was back in the lead and the order remained Walker, Wilcox, Millican (who made the only pitstop on lap 17) and Radzikowski.
