The Grand Prix Circus moved on to Hungary for the 10th race of the season, where many of tbe twenty competitors complained about the processions of computer cars they had to deal with.

After an absence of two races, Rene Smit was once again on the front row of the grid, qualifying in pole position comfortably ahead of Stephen Leary.

However, the race didn't go quite as well for Smit, crashing out on lap 47 for the first time since USA. Perhaps he now regrets opting to race with TC off! Luckily for Snit, his championship rival also had a poor race, by his high standards, with Oliver Roberts only managing 7th. Small consolation for Roberts was his fastest race lap.

The race was actually won by Leary, in only his 3rd GP of the season. Amazingly, he finished almost 65 seconds ahead of his Cambusters' teammate, Donald MacLeod, who also achieved a personal best finish. Third place went to Robert Schaftlein, his third podium finish in four races - an impressive diplay of consistency.

Roberts now has a comfortable 27 point lead in the drivers' championship, and is now looking good for the title. However, anything could happen if he would only fail to finish a race! Will he be able to handle the pressure?

Following this race, Grant Reeve announced that he was leaving the Nightmare in Pit Lane team. His drive is to be taken by David Pennington - an early season title contender - who should boost Nightmare's chances in the constructors' championship.

The three Easter races should prove to be crucial in determining who wins both titles...
