Qualifying at Brazil was dominated again by the Nightmare In Pit Lane duo of Grant Reeve and Rene Smit. Already it is looking as if they will take every qualifying point available.

The race, however, was won by Penlight Renault`s David Pennington, following a 4th at USA, by an excellent 26 seconds from 2nd place. During the race he encountered `some` problems with backmarkers - a common complaint from competitors, particularly USA winner Oliver Roberts who blamed the computer cars for his disappointing 6th position.

Of those times submitted, 3rd placed Smit unsurprisingly drove the fastest lap with a time of 1:11.372.

Meanwhile, his teammate Reeve crashed out on lap 10, proving that it isn`t always best to be the fastest. In defence, he claimed that Brazil is a very `buggy` circuit. Hmmm.

Earliest retirement of the race was achieved by the unfortunate Michal Hofman of AAtRV who was distracted by his 8 year old nephew and broke too late. He had comleted only 7 laps. Equally unfortunate was 5th place Alan Strang who would have secured 2nd if he hadn`t been distracted by his cat jumping onto his lap half way through the race!

Of the 40 competitors, an impressive 32 completed the 71 laps, justifying many people`s opinions that Brazil is an `easy` circuit.
