Bodlien beat Svehlik to the draw in Montreal and took the initial lead away from the pole sitter as the field got away at the start.

Lap 6 saw Di Martino crash heavily at the final corner with brake failure, luckily he stepped away from the wreckage unharmed.

Having shadowed Bodlien for most of the race, Svehlik took the lead on lap 11 and proceeded to pull away, opening up a 27 second lead over the Yapamotox by the time he pitted on lap 26. Bodlien and Ziarnik pitted on lap 27, the Yapamotox team electing to replacing Ziarnik's front wing which is askew after an earlier incident. However on lap 33 it became clear he probably would have been better off leaving the broken one on, a further pit stop being required to refit the nosecone which had come loose.

Svehlik and Bodlien both pitted for the last time on lap 54 but a secure second was lost to engine failure for TB. Svehlik took the victory by 2 minutes and 30 seconds from Ziarnik.
